A New Year

Hello from Taga Church!
I know that this is a few weeks late, but I hope that everyone had a wonderful Holiday season last month, and they continue to have a wonderful and blessed year!
We have many upcoming activities this year for Taga Church; like the Cambodia mission trip, LST, Hitachi Christian camp, all Church retreat, etc. So please watch for more updates this year.
Please check back every so often for updates.

Here are some pictures from Sunday, January 6th. We had a potluck lunch that day, but before we ate we made Mochi for the lunch. Mochi is steamed rice pounded with wooden mallets into a paste. It is a tradtional Japanese custom and food.

Thank you to Niumaia Mataraki for the pictures.

Church and Kindergarden Bazaar

Last week Saturday, October 20th, the Taga Church in coordination with the Seiji Kindergarten next door, had an open Bazaar. The church sold some baked goods and imported Korean food, provided by the Kim family. The kindergarten, whose events were aimed more for the children, offered food, baked goods, and many other random good for sale. All of the churches sales went to benefit the women's ministry at the church, and the kindergarten sales benefited future events for the kindergarten. Dan helped sell hot dogs and popcorn. I dressed up as Jack Sparrow, "Pirates of the Caribbean," and helped with a treasure hunting game at the kindergarten. Tomoko McLain worked at a cool flower arranging area. Everyone had a good time.

LKT Party

Tonight at the Seiji kindergarten, next to the church, we had an LKT (Let's Keep Talking) party. We did this as a follow-up activity for the LST(Let's Start Talking) mission program we have at the church every summer. The party theme was Space Odyssey! The activates were "Robot Making Contest" and "Moon walk". We decorated the room with Christmas lights and everyone had glow sticks. Dan and I planned the party and we had a total of twenty two people in attendance. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun.
